Oakridge Auction Gallery is pleased to present its first auction of 2021. Our sale begins on February 6th at 10am Eastern Time (EST). The auction features just under 400 lots with pieces ranging from coins, silvers, and fine art to antique furnishings, important autographs, and Chinese and Japanese art and antiques. Art highlights include a Peter Max bronze and matching lithography entitled “I Love the World,” an H. Claude Pissaro pastel, and an Edward Deakin still life of flowers from 1918. Coins include gold St. Gaudens double eagles, 1908 gold 100 Koronas, early US large cents and half cents, and more. Autographs and letters include a photo signed by five US Presidents, autographs of US Supreme Court Justices, documents signed by James Madison & US Grant, a Florence Nightingale TLS, along with many other notable autographs. Sterling silver in this auction comes from Tiffany, Gorham, and other notable makers. An excellent selection of Asian art and antiques is headlined by over 100 lots from the old collection of Mr. William Wu (1939-2007), San Francisco, USA. Other Asian highlights are fine Edo and Meiji period Japanese porcelains, 18th and 19th century Chinese porcelains, gilt bronze Buddha and Taoist figures, a rare early 19th century Burmese bronze bell bracket with eleven figures, Chinese needleworks, and paintings and clothing from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
